From 3 to 5 November 2026, we will once again take part in the Smart City Expo World Congress, held at Fira Barcelona – Gran Via. This year, we will have our own space within the Catalonia Pavilion, having been selected by ACCIÓ to join this area dedicated to Catalan companies driving innovative solutions for cities and the built environment.
For us, participating in this congress is a natural fit. Digital transformation in the built environment is at the heart of our expertise, from BIM consultancy and information management to digital twins and the transformation of building and infrastructure management processes.
At this year’s edition, in addition to sharing some of the latest developments we are working on, we will deliver two presentations on Tuesday, 3 November, focusing on immersive cities and the applications of digital twins in asset management.
The Digital Transformation of Cities: Beyond Technology
The Smart City Expo World Congress brings together companies, public authorities and professionals working to transform the way we plan, design and manage our cities.
In this context, digital innovation opens up new opportunities to make better use of the information available about buildings, facilities and infrastructure.
At C+A, we believe the challenge is not simply to introduce new technological tools, but to ensure they bring real value to workflows and decision-making processes.
Methodologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) enable the structured management and coordination of information relating to built assets. Building on this foundation, immersive environments and digital twins can expand the possibilities for interaction, analysis and management.
This is the vision we want to share during the congress, with particular attention to the needs of professionals and organisations responsible for managing the built environment.
Two C+A Presentations at Smart City Expo 2026
On Tuesday, 3 November, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, we will deliver two consecutive sessions at the Agora Area of the Catalonia stand, D50 (Hall 3).
Beyond the Smart City: Towards the Immersive City
Joan-Marc Garcés · Tuesday, 3 November · 1:00–1:30 pm
In recent years, the concept of the smart city has been closely associated with the integration of sensors, data and digital technologies to improve the management of urban environments.
But what if the next step were not simply to have access to more information, but to experience and interact with the spaces around us?
In this presentation, Joan-Marc Garcés, a digital transformation specialist, will explore the concept of the immersive city and the opportunities it offers to transform the way we interact with buildings and cities.
From visualising and experiencing spaces before they are built to facilitating collaboration between professionals, understanding hidden infrastructure and accessing contextual information about buildings throughout their operational life.
A reflection on how the metaverse can connect people, information, and physical and digital spaces, opening up new possibilities for designing, building, managing and experiencing our cities.
Digital Twin Solutions for Building and Infrastructure Managers
Eloi Coloma · Tuesday, 3 November · 1:30–2:00 pm
Digital twins represent an evolution in the way digital information is connected to physical assets.
Unlike a conventional three-dimensional model, a digital twin can integrate information from multiple sources and keep it updated to support monitoring, analysis and decision-making.
In this presentation, Eloi Coloma, a digital transformation specialist, will discuss the opportunities these solutions offer to professionals responsible for managing buildings, facilities and infrastructure.
Their application can help improve understanding of asset conditions, facilitate maintenance planning and support more efficient resource management.
This is particularly relevant for public authorities, asset owners, operators and infrastructure managers, who need reliable, accessible information throughout the entire lifecycle of their assets.
Meet Us at the Catalonia Pavilion

Moving Towards a More Digital Built Environment
Participating in Smart City Expo is an opportunity to continue sharing knowledge and building connections between professionals, companies and public authorities facing common challenges in the digital transformation of the built environment.
At Coloma+Armengol, we aim to contribute to this evolution through an approach that combines technical expertise, digital innovation and practical application.
If you are planning to attend the congress, we invite you to join our presentations and visit us at the Catalonia Pavilion. We would be delighted to learn about the challenges you face in your projects and exchange ideas about the opportunities offered by new digital management models.
See you at Smart City Expo 2026!
